TERMS OF SERVICE
LAST UPDATED: JULY 9, 2026
Welcome to the website of Dr. Jason von Stietz (the "Website"). This Website is owned and operated by Dr. Jason von Stietz ("we," "us," or "our").
Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using our Website, scheduling an initial consultation, or registering for any workshops. By accessing or using any part of the Website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to all the terms and conditions of this agreement, you may not access the Website or use any services.
1. NO MEDICAL, PSYCHOLOGICAL, OR CRISIS ADVICE
The content provided on this Website—including all text, graphics, images, blogs, podcast episodes, and downloadable resources—is for educational, informational, and general performance marketing purposes only.
No Professional Relationship: Accessing this Website, consuming its media, or submitting an inquiry via our contact forms does not establish a psychologist-patient relationship or any other professional healthcare relationship between you and us.
Not a Substitute for Care: The information on this Website is not a substitute for professional medical or psychological advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your physician or another qualified healthcare provider regarding a medical or mental health condition.
Crisis/Emergency Disclaimer: This Website and our communication channels are not monitored 24/7 and are not designed for crisis intervention. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, you must immediately call 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), dial 911, or go to the nearest emergency room.
2. 1-ON-1 CLINICAL THERAPY AND TELEHEALTH BOUNDARIES
For users seeking individual clinical care (e.g., CBT, ERP, or CBT-I), the following strict jurisdictional and clinical boundaries apply:
Licensing and Jurisdictional Limits: Professional regulations dictate that individual clinical therapy services are strictly restricted to clients who are physically located within states where we hold valid, active licensure (e.g., California) at the exact time of the telehealth session. We cannot provide clinical treatment across state lines where we are not licensed.
Clinical Intake Framework: Booking a free initial consultation via this site is an inquiry tool only. A formal, therapeutic 1-on-1 relationship is only established after completing a comprehensive intake assessment and mutually signing a separate, clinical Informed Consent and Office Policies document.
Telehealth Technology Disclaimer: While individual telehealth sessions are conducted over secure, HIPAA-compliant platforms, you acknowledge that digital communications are subject to internet stability. We are not liable for technical disruptions or connectivity drops, and backup communication methods (such as a standard phone line) will be utilized as needed.
3. ONLINE & IN-PERSON GROUP WORKSHOPS AND TEAM SESSIONS
For athletic clubs, teams, and individuals participating in workshops or mental skills sessions, the following terms govern our educational services:
Educational and Consulting Nature: Group workshops, team mental skills sessions, and applied improv training are strictly educational, consulting, and performance-oriented in nature. They do not constitute clinical psychotherapy, diagnostic medical treatment, or localized mental health care.
No Expectation of Peer Confidentiality: Unlike private 1-on-1 therapy, we cannot guarantee, monitor, or legally enforce confidentiality among other sports team members, coaches, or workshop participants. You acknowledge that anything you share, verbalize, or type into a chat in a group setting can be witnessed by other participants.
Behavioral Standards and Removal: We maintain a strictly professional environment. We reserve the right to remove any participant from a workshop or digital stream who is disruptive, hostile, or violates the safety of the group, without any obligation to issue a financial refund.
Let me know when you are ready, and I will output Part 2 (which features your intellectual property rules, liability limits, your Torrance affiliate address, and the secure contact form link) so you can copy and paste the whole thing together.
4. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND MEDIA USAGE
All materials available on this Website—including but not limited to written articles, logos, graphics, team-building frameworks, and audio files from Movie House Sport Psychology and The Mentally Fit Athlete podcasts—are the exclusive intellectual property of Dr. Jason von Stietz and are protected by United States copyright laws.
You may access and stream materials for personal, non-commercial use.
You are strictly prohibited from recording, screenshotting, scraping, or republishing workshop materials or podcast content for commercial distribution without our express, prior written authorization.
5. SCHEDULING, PAYMENTS, AND CANCELLATIONS
Inquiries: Use of third-party scheduling integrations on this site is subject to availability.
Workshop Contracts: Team workshops and organizational sessions are bound by the custom service agreements, payment schedules, and specific cancellation windows outlined in their individual corporate contracts.
6. THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND EXTERNAL PLATFORMS
Our Website contains links to external platforms (including but not limited to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, and secure billing or scheduling software) that are not owned or controlled by us. We assume no responsibility for the content, security practices, or privacy policies of any third-party networks. You click these links at your own risk.
7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dr. Jason von Stietz and any associated entities, contractors, or employees shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your access to, use of, or reliance upon the information provided on this Website. Your use of this site is entirely at your own risk.
8. GOVERNING LAW AND SEVERABILITY
These Terms shall be governed by, interpreted, and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that specific provision shall be severed, and the remaining terms will continue in full force and effect.
9. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time to reflect changing regulations or practice guidelines. Updates will be posted directly to this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Website following changes indicates your binding acceptance of the new terms.
10. CONTACT INFORMATION
For questions regarding these Terms of Service or other non-clinical inquiries, please use the contact form available on this Website.
Please do not submit confidential or sensitive medical or mental health information through the contact form. Submission of a contact form does not establish a psychologist-patient relationship, and messages are not monitored continuously.
